After a 3 year hiatus, I am back in the studio researching, exploring, and creating imagery inspired by folklore motifs. Thank you to ACUA – The Alberta Council for the inspiration to create these new studies. They are on display at ACUA until January 31, 2026, and can be purchased in person or here, on line. The Tree of Life is an exciting research project with ongoing potential. Check back often to see new pieces as they are created.
The Tree of Life is a universal symbol representing interconnectedness, life, and strength – with a tree having roots in the earth and branches reaching towards the heavens. It is founded across many cultures and religions where it can symbolize the cycle of life and death, divine wisdom, fertility, and a link between the earthly and spiritual realms. Traditionally, the Tree of Life was displayed in the home to ensure health and bring good fortune to the family.
Each of these paintings was created with watercolours produced by Windsor Newton, Daniel Smith, and Holbein. They are on 150 lb Arches paper. The pieces with raw edges are floated within the frame. The mats are acid free and the frames are wooden.
Commissions are welcome.
