After the Hopak

“After the Hopak” is one of the images in Larisa’s Ukrainian Dance series. Featured is a girl’s costume from the Poltava region of Ukraine. It is worn during the famous “Hopak”. This is a lively dance showcasing beautiful costuming, elaborate footwork, and spectacular choreography.

The vinok, embroidered blouse, and velvet jacket have all been dropped on the dressing room floor, capturing Larisa’s memories of back stage quick changes and the frenzy and excitement of a concert.
