National Pride
Original Watercolour Painting
Celebrating Women Collection
This painting was initially inspired by all the women who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces during peace and in war times.
The Poppy has become the symbol of Remembrance Day due to the poem “In Flanders Fields” written by Canadian physician and Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.
“National Pride” was made into a silk scarf in 2004 and sold as a fundraiser for the National Council of Women of Canada. The scarfs have sold out.
